Baked Potato + Free Slater Designs Pad
The Firewire Baked Potato in the awesome Helium technology is hard to ignore.
This magic little board offers the same small wave performance as the Sweet Potato with a few subtle differences. The nose is pulled in slightly and some of the rail volume has been removed to allow for even faster rail to rail transfers. The Baked Potato has the same aggressive double concaves and 'V-spline' running down the centre of the board which allows the board to get up on the rail much faster than the overall design would indicate.
Primarily designed for smaller, weaker conditions, the Baked Potato shortboard will surprise you with its performance characteristics, and how the quad fins set further back and closer to the rail than usual, allow the board to hold with- out sliding, even in larger surf.
Firewire’s Helium tech is all about making and already amazing set of construction options even better. Its lighter, seems strong, no signs of any pressure marks at all, and very fast. The top and bottom skins are parabolic rail set up is a new Paulownia/Balsa mix which is meant to give faster flex response. Having surfed the tech in a couple of different models it does feel light but the speed through a stiffer feel and responsiveness is exceptional, Helium is here to stay.
- (Helium) The same expanded lifespan beyond traditional materials that many expect from FST, in addition to the gentle compression beneath your feet that others love about LFT. We used the lightest foam we have to make Helium, combined with a brand new rail crafted from both balsa wood and paulownia wood. It’s all wrapped in a brand new deckskin material we’re introducing for the first time.
