FCS II Jason Stevenson PC Tri Set

The FCS II JS fin was designed by world renowned Shaper Jason Stevenson (JS Industries), and delivers a smooth ride with an emphasis on flow and drive.

PERFORMANCE

JS uses this template as the static-line or constant element which all his surfboards are designed around. In his opinion,

In regards to the feel of the JS fin, think of how Joel Parkinson surfs and that basically sums it up. Lots of drive off the bottom, extended flow through turns, with a nice offering of tail release on hand if you need it.

On the open face you’ll feel confident pushing a longer turn and holding the board on rail, yet feel anything but restricted when it comes to jamming tighter, more controlled snaps in steeper sections.

The JS fin is geared for intermediate and above surfer ability. This is classified as a high performance fin that sits in the ‘Carver’ family of fins, and will transition across multiple conditions and board models.

“If a board works with this fin, then it’s a winner” - Jason Stevenson

The JS template has the longest base length of any comparable size tri fin in the FCS range. It’s this longer base that produces all the drive and speed.

The sweep or rake is 36.1°, which is more than you’ll find on an ‘All Round’ fin. This encourages a longer, more flowing turning arc. The tip is also quite tapered or narrow, and it’s the absence of area in the tip which allows the fin to release out of the lip when pushed hard on more vertical angles of attack.

CONSTRUCTION

Performance Core (PC) fins deliver a consistent feel, similar to a traditional fibreglass fin, but with the advantage of reduced weight. The flex pattern extends progressively from the base through to the tip helping the surfer to maintain drive and hold through a turn. PC fins are reliable, very responsive, and can be used in a variety of different conditions.

“The best surfers in the world like Parko, Andy, Dusty and Bruce have all used this fin to win multiple events, so we know it works”. -JASON STEVENSON
